Communicational practices of those who use internet and those who do not in Spain. Exposure to and use of the communication media
Abstract
This paper analyses the different forms of communication media consumption, newspapers, newspaper supplements, magazines and television, for the Spanish population in terms of those who use the internet and those who do not–in order to show that using the internet leads to a different consumption of these media. The results demonstrate, on the one hand, the relationship existing between internet users’ greater levels of consumption of newspapers, supplements, magazines and radio and lower levels of consumption of television, and on the other hand, how the fact that not using the internet is strongly linked to a lower level of consumption of newspapers, supplements, magazines and radio, and a higher level of consumption of television.
